Short version: Amber only stores what it needs to run its features. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with anyone. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
1. Who we are
Amber is a Discord bot developed and operated by Novodude (AKOโข Team). This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled when you use Amber in a Discord server or via direct message.
2. What data Amber stores
Amber stores the minimum amount of data required to operate its features. This includes:
- Discord user ID โ used to identify you across sessions and link your account to your economy, pet, and game data.
- Username โ stored at registration time for display purposes.
- Dabloon balance, XP, and level โ your in-bot economy progress.
- Profile data โ bio text and color theme you choose.
- Game data โ Duck Clicker score, Tic Tac Toe wins/streak, daily claim timestamps.
- Pet data โ your cat's name, level, hunger, happiness, accessories, and interaction timestamps.
- Shop purchases and inventory โ items you have bought or own.
- Quest progress โ daily quest state including progress and claim status.
- Action counts โ how many times you have performed or received specific social actions (e.g. hugs, pats).
- Guild configuration โ per-server settings such as welcome channel, autorole, log channel, and prefix.
- Moderation records โ warnings issued to users in a server, stored per guild.
- Radio playlists and songs โ playlist names and YouTube/Spotify track metadata you add.
3. What Amber does NOT store
- Message content beyond what is needed to track quest progress (emoji and word counts) โ no message logs are kept.
- Voice data โ radio uses direct streaming and nothing is recorded or saved to disk.
- Passwords, email addresses, or any information outside of Discord.
- IP addresses or device information.
4. How data is used
All stored data is used exclusively to operate Amber's features. Specifically:
- Economy data is used to power the dabloon system, leaderboards, and shop.
- Pet data is used to manage your cat companion and send check-in messages.
- Quest data is used to track and reward daily quest progress.
- Guild config data is used to apply server-specific settings on bot events.
- Moderation records are used by server administrators to view and manage user warnings.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside of operating the bot.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. The only external services Amber communicates with are:
- Discord API โ to operate as a bot on the platform.
- nekos.best, TheCatAPI, TheDogAPI, randomfox.ca, random-d.uk, Giphy, some-random-api, bunnies.io โ for animal image commands. No user data is sent to these services.
- YouTube (via yt-dlp) and Spotify (via spotipy) โ for radio playlist resolution. No user data is sent beyond the URLs you provide.
- opentdb.com โ for trivia questions. No user data is sent.
- HuggingFace โ the domesticated-LLM model is downloaded from HuggingFace at setup and runs locally. No data is sent to HuggingFace during bot operation.
- naas.isalman.dev โ for the /no command. No user data is sent.
6. Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as you use Amber. If you would like your data deleted, contact us (see section 8) and we will remove all records associated with your Discord user ID from our database within a reasonable time.
Guild configuration data is retained while Amber is present in the server. Server owners may request deletion at any time.
7. Leaderboard visibility
Leaderboard commands display Discord user IDs in mention format. You can opt out of leaderboards at any time using /switchprivacy. Private accounts are excluded from all leaderboard queries.

9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated over time as Amber's features change. Significant changes will be noted in the bot's GitHub repository. Continued use of Amber after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
